New Manchester City midfielder Raheem Sterling caused a massive stink in the way he left Liverpool this summer.
The 20-year-old, who cost City £49m, has now admitted that he regrets the way he handled his departure from the Reds, according to The Telegraph.
“I was a bit disappointed how I left. That was the main problem I’ve had with the situation – how I’ve left it with Liverpool,” Sterling said on his exit.
Despite expressing regret, Sterling would not apologise for his actions or the actions of his agent, Aidy Ward.
Ward had called Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher a “knob” for his criticism of Sterling’s desire to leave Anfield.
Despite the drama surrounding the young star midfielder, Man City will be receiving a player with superstar potential.
Sterling has scored 16 goals in the last two seasons for Liverpool, and he is sure to become an even more dangerous player as he gets older.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will be ridding themselves of drama and receiving a large sum of money.
