Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid has praised Sreesanth for his performance against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.
Following victory over Kings XI Punjab in the IPL on Sunday Rajasthan Royals captain Rahul Dravid has praised the response of Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, after the bowler had a poor previous game against Pune Warriors.
Sreesanth claimed the wickets of Kings XI openers Adam Gilchrist and Mandeep Singh and gave away just 20 runs during his whole spell.
This strong performance came after the Indian seamer was hit all over the park by Pune Warriors in Rajasthan’s seven wicket defeat to the IPL strugglers last Thursday.
Yet after being hit for two sixes and a four in just one over against Pune, Sreesanth tightened up his game in the six wicket win over Kings XI and Dravid had nothing but praise for his bowler.
“Out of four games, Sreesanth’s had three good games. If 75 per cent of the time in the tournament you have good games, then I’ll take it happily,” the Royals skipper was quoted on ESPNcricinfo.
“He did really well today and it was good to see him bounce back from the previous game.”
Along with James Faulkner and Siddharth Trivedi, Sreesanth helped limit the Kings XI batsmen to just 124 on Sunday and it allowed Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson to take Rajasthan over the line to victory in the last over.
It is now three wins out of four for Dravid’s side in this season’s IPL and the dismissals of Gilchrist and Mandeep have pushed Sreesanth’s wicket total for the tournament to four, with an average of 25.25.
