While compatriot Ramires was on hand to head home to apply the finishing touches to some impressive build-up play, Kenedy seemingly grabbed his opportunity to shine almost immediately.
Although the 19-year-old still has a long way to go in terms of displacing his compatriots in either Willian or Oscar in the Chelsea starting line-up, Jose Mourinho would certainly have been buoyed by what he saw from the talented youngster.
After boosting morale with back-to-back wins against Maccabi Tel Aviv and Arsenal respectively, Mourinho’s men will now be hoping to string a strong run of results together to get back on track after a difficult start to the year.
