How important Mourinho’s players will be to winning the title.
There was much excitement at Chelsea last summer with the return of Jose Mourinho as manager, but in the end 2013/14 yielded no silverware for the 51-year-old.
Mourinho has looked to change this ahead of the upcoming season with the signings of Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis for a combined fee of around £82m.
Here fanatix ranks the Blues players out of 10 in terms of how important they will be to the club winning the Premier League title in 2014/15.
Goalkeepers
Petr Cech – 6/10
Has kept more clean-sheets in the Premier League than any other ‘keeper, but in the past couple of years the form of the Czech Republic No.1 has dropped and he could well be sold this summer.
Thibaut Courtois – 8/10
After three years of success on-loan at Atletico Madrid the Belgium international has returned to Stamford Bridge as one of most exciting stoppers in world football.
Mark Schwarzer – 4/10
Hugely experienced in English football and will serve as a great source of guidance for Courtois, but at 41-years-old will not be able to relied upon too much.
