Attacking midfield
Cesc Fabregas – 9/10
A £30m purchase from Barcelona and a midfielder well known in English football after spending eight years with Arsenal and could well be the most important player for the Blues.
Eden Hazard – 9/10
A close second is this talented Belgian, who last term was the top-scorer for his team and if they are to achieve anything Hazard will need to be at the top of his game.
Victor Moses – 3/10
The last year that the Nigerian spent on-loan at Liverpool will have done little for his confidence or progression and it could come as no surprise if Moses was sold this summer.
Oscar – 7/10
When Mourinho returned to the club in 2013 he named Oscar as his preferred No.10, but the Brazil international still needs to do a lot to warrant that tag.
Mohamed Salah – 5/10
Chose to join the West Londoners ahead of the Reds in January, but looks set to be behind a host of more established names for a place in the first team.
Andre Schurrle – 6/10
Had a good 2014 World Cup campaign with Germany and will be on a high after winning the tournament and could well play more of consistent role in the XI this time around.
Willian – 6/10
At £30m the South American was an expensive purchase last year, although his hard work and refusal to give up appeals to Mourinho’s style.
