Townsend’s rating is perhaps skewed here because of his ultra direct style. Virtually every time he gets the ball he goes on a dribble up the right wing, before cutting in and shooting with his left foot. While it boosts his WhoScored rating, the fact he’s only scored one league goal shows he hasn’t been especially effective.
