10. Kentucky – The Wildcats held their own against #1 Mississippi State for about as long as any other team has this season, but after giving up 86 points in just two weeks there is no longer any doubt that their 5-2 start was the result of an incredibly easy schedule
9. Texas A&M – QB Kenny Hill has gone from Week 1 Heisman trophy frontrunner to a possible benching with the Aggies coaching staff now letting his backup Kyle Allen share the reps. But being outscored 142-51 in a three-week stretch tends to do that to even the hardiest of QBs.
8. South Carolina – That was exactly the kind of maximum effort game against a clearly dominant opponent that we have come to expect from the Gamecocks, but it’s also the kind of letdown loss we’ve come to expect as well.
7. Missouri – With three games against the SEC’s worst teams still on the schedule, all the Tigers need is one slip-up by Georgia to get a spot in the SEC title game.
6. LSU – Two things became abundantly clear after Saturday’s upset win over Ole Miss: 1. Head coach Les Miles knows how to get his players to rally around him like nobody else in the SEC, 2. The Tigers may be 5th, but they sure as heck aren’t cellar dwellers in the SEC West.
