5. Georgia – Maybe Georgia is actually better off without Todd Gurley? After all, they were 4-1 with him on the team, but they’re an undefeated 2-0 with him gone. Facts are facts.
4. Ole Miss – The Rebels are at a serious advantage the rest of the way, getting Auburn at home, Arkansas on the road and playing FCS weakling Presbyterian at home before the Egg Bowl AT HOME against Mississippi State. They’re ranking may not show it but the deck is stacked heavily in their favor for them to win out and go to the SEC title game.
3. Auburn – The Tigers have no breaks and plenty of tough competition before they play Alabama on the road in the Iron Bowl, but if Auburn can win out, they’ll be the SEC champions for sure.
2. Alabama – An interesting road matchup against the high-riding LSU Tigers will send Alabama back home for the rest of the season with games against #1 Mississippi State and Western Carolina before the Iron Bowl. The Crimson Tide should be the favorite in all of those games.
1. Mississippi State – You can’t argue with an undefeated record, especially against the gauntlet of SEC powerhouses the Bulldogs had to go through to get there, but with two of their last two games on the road against Alabama and Ole Miss, the Bulldogs will have to be the national champions people are envisioning them to be to stay undefeated and go to the College Football playoffs.
