On Sunday, NFL fans will find out which two teams will play in the Super Bowl as the conference championships are about to take place.
With every NFL game comes a storyline, and this week’s games and the Super Bowl will be no different.
Although the Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning narrative will not take place in the AFC Championship this time, Brady will be facing one of the future elite quarterbacks in Andrew Luck.
Here are five exciting storylines that may become true when the Super Bowl approaches.
5. Darrelle Revis vs. Richard Sherman
Most football fans would agree that Sherman and Revis are the top two cornerbacks in the NFL right now. Sherman is notorious for being a trash talker, but it’s hard to argue with his production as he has come up with four interceptions this season despite rarely being targeted by quarterbacks. He is a major reason why the Seattle Seahawks defense has been the best in the NFL for the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, Revis has regained his form since joining the New England Patriots. He had an off year in his only season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after having a season-ending injury in 2012, his final season with the New York Jets. Revis has consistently shut down his opponents, such as holding Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton to three catches for 24 yards and Chargers receiver Keenan Allen to two catches for three yards. If the Seahawks and Patriots meet in the Super Bowl as expected, it will feature a battle for the title of best corner in the game.
