How each player that took to the field in Brazil got on.
Tuesday signaled the end of England’s 2014 World Cup campaign, eliminated at the group stage for the first time since 1958 with just a single point to their name.
Things weren’t quite as bad as the statistics suggest however, with 2-1 losses to both Italy and Uruguay both being considered as close encounters.
Yet there is no escaping the fact that the exit was disappointing and manager Roy Hodgson has many problems to address as the Three Lions start their qualification for Euro 2016.
Here is how the 23-man squad rated in Brazil.
Goalkeepers
1. Joe Hart – 6
Although there were some erratic moments from the Manchester City No.1, Hart was generally solid between the sticks and is by far the nation’s best option in the position.
13. Ben Foster – 7
Despite a poor showing in the pre-tournament warm-up match with Ecuador, the West Bromwich Albion ‘keeper played well in his only appearance at the World Cup against Costa Rica.
22. Fraser Forster – n/a
Failed to take to the pitch once and the Celtic star can feel somewhat hard done by for that having impressed with the Scottish champions over the previous 12 months.
