Liga giants seal their first transfer of the close season.
Real Madrid have announced the signing of coveted Malaga midfield player Isco, according to the club’s official website.
The skilful Spain international had been the subject of an intense transfer tug of war between the Spanish giants and Premier League big spenders Manchester City of late, with many expecting the 21-year-old to opt to make the move to Eastlands this summer following his mentor Manuel Pellegrini’s appointment as the new City head coach.
However, that is not now the case after los Blancos president Florentinmo Perez announced that the attacking midfield player had instead moved to the Santiago Bernabeu for a fee believed to be 30 million euros.
“Isco has signed from Malaga and must now pass his medical examination”, Perez told Radio Nacional de Espana.
Isco has been at Malaga since 2011, netting 14 goals in his 69 appearances for the club during that time, and was recently voted on to the Uefa European Under-21 Championship Team of the Tournament following an outstanding campaign in Israel in which the player finished as the competition’s third top scorer to help his country retain their title.
