Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale would be welcomed at Real Madrid, says Carlo Ancelotti.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti says he would welcome the club signing Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale.
La Liga’s runners up have been linked with a move for the Wales international for much of the summer, with many publications suggesting a world record transfer bid was imminent.
The fact that Bale himself has refused to speak publicly for the last few months makes his intentions fairly self explanatory, despite plenty of denials from an increasingly irritable Spurs coach Andre Villas-Boas.
Still, Real Madrid rarely fail to get their man, and Ancelotti knows the script – hinting just enough.
“Bale? I can only respond by saying I’m very happy with the squad I have but the best players make a team better,” Ancelotti told the assembled press, as reported by Goal.com.
Bale has repeatedly spoken of his desire to play in the UEFA Champions League, and has also announced that he is unafraid to try pastures new in a foreign league.
It all points to a Real Madrid transfer.
