Rossoneri expected to reject any proposal for promising youngster.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly interested in signing AC Milan starlet Mattia De Sciglio according to reports in Spain.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a rise to prominence over the past year, having previously broken into the starting line-up for the Rossoneri, he has established himself as a starter for Cesare Prandelli in the Italian national team too.
Lazy comparisons have been made with Milan legend Paolo Maldini due to their ability to play at left-back despite being predominantly right-footed, although De Sciglio has insisted he hopes to make a name for himself in the future.
His impressive form has reportedly caught the attention of former Milan boss Ancelotti, who according to Spanish newspaper Marca, is interested in signing the talented youngster.
However, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan see the Italian international as “a pillar” of the club moving forward, after his solid performances last year were a particular highlight in an overall disappointing season.
Along with team-mate and compatriot Stephan El Shaarawy, De Sciglio is seen as a perfect example of how youth can work at the club, having successfully worked his way through the ranks of the club’s youth academy.
As a result, Ancelotti is likely to be left disappointed if there is truth behind his interest, as Milan look to continue to develop the youngsters at Massimiliano Allegri’s disposal with their new transfer strategy ruling out big-name signings.
El Shaarawy had been linked with an exit earlier this summer as Milan looked to sell before they could buy, but having spoken to the player and resisted the temptation it is unlikely that they will part company with De Sciglio who is also keen on a future at San Siro.
