The former Chelsea manager has targeted the Brazilian midfielder as the ideal man to add some grit to his midfield and after chasing him over the summer he is not ready to drop the chase.
Ancelotti was in charge when the west Londoners signed Ramires in August 2010 and remains a big fan of the hardman.
He will have to pay around £25m for the 27-year-old, though, but believes he will add some much needed depth to his midfield.
Madrid’s controversial sale of Angel Di Maria in August provoked some considerable ire from fans and players alike, and this could prove enough for Ancelotti to push through a move for the star in the new year.
