The front-page splash of Spanish news-source AS proudly declares that Los Blancos are about to commence ‘Operation De Gea’ in their quest to sign: the former Atletico Madrid man.
Whilst it’s unclear what this ‘reasonable price’ would be, AS goes on to claim that if a deal cannot be struck and United drive a hard bargain, Real will simply wait until the summer of 2016 when De Gea’s contract expires to sanction a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, if for some reason a deal for De Gea is unfeasible or the Spaniard rules himself out of a move, AS say Real have planned for a third option and will in this case attempt to sign Chelsea’s Petr Cech.
Although it’s unclear just which plan will end up working for Real, all three options point to a definite end to the Real Madrid career of Iker Casillas in goal.
And indeed AS claim that Real are waiting for Casillas to make the first move in this regard.
