Barca cannot sign new recruits until January 2016 after being found guilty of breaching the rules concerning the transfer of players under the age of 18.
The rules state that clubs cannot sign under-18s from outside of the EU if they haven’t been put up for transfer by their current club unless their parents have had to move to the country for reasons outside of football.
There are question marks over Madrid’s acquisition of two 12-year-olds from Venezuela back in 2012 – Manuel Godoy and Fernando Macias- who were scouted by former Argentinian footballer Miguel Angel Coira.
Both Coira and Godoy have since left the club, but FIFA told Los Blancos on December 14 that they would be looking into the transfers and that they had a month to respond.
Their director of institutional relations, Emilio Butragueno, has said that the Spanish giants will support FIFA’s investigation, but doesn’t believe the club have done anything wrong.
