Spanish giants in tug of war over Santos starlet.
Real Madrid are attempting to hijack Barcelona’s move to sign Brazilian sensation Neymar, according to respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.
Santos striker Neymar is one of the hottest properties in world football and is widely expected to join one of the La Liga giants this summer or, at the latest, after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Sky Sports’ Balague claims Neymar would prefer to join Barcelona, who have already handed Santos a 10m euro downpayment, but Real are keen to scupper the deal with a bid of 100m euros (£85.6m).

If Real’s bid is successful, it will make Neymar the most expensive player in history, ahead of Los Blancos’ Cristiano Ronaldo who joined the club from Manchester United in an £80m deal in 2009.
Brazil international Neymar has scored 20 goals in just 32 international appearances and boasts an average of a goal every two games domestically.
