The Spanish giants are on the lookout for a long-term replacement for the off-form Iker Casillas, who looks past his best despite a great career at the Bernabeu.
De Gea has been in top form for United since moving to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid back in 2011, and could be keen to make a return to his native Spain.
