Luka Modric reportedly interest in Old Trafford switch.
Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric wants to join Manchester United, but the Croatian is not interested in returning to Tottenham as part of Real’s protracted move to sign Gareth Bale.
The Daily Mirror claims the Croatian is set to refuse to be part of Real’s world record package for Bale, with Spurs said to be keen to re-sign the 27-year-old either as part of Bale’s departure or independently.
Man United are undoubtedly in the market for a creative midfielder this summer but look set to miss out on Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas, after seeing two bids rejected for the Spain playmaker.
New Red Devils boss David Moyes is yet to fully give up on Fabregas, 26, but Modric is one of a number alternatives the Scot is willing to consider.
The Mirror says Moyes also wants Everton’s Marouane Fellaini but believes his Red Devils squad needs two new midfield players.
Spurs are also keen on a midfield playmaker, having suffered creatively since Modric left for Spain last summer, and the North London outfit have previously been linked with Bernard, Miralem Pjanic and Christian Eriksen.
