La Liga giants eyeing Porto’s Jackson Martinez.
Real Madrid are interested in a summer deal for reported Arsenal target Jackson Martinez, according to Madrid-based Spanish daily Marca.
Los Blancos have reportedly been watching the Porto striker, who netted 26 goals in his debut season in the Primera Liga last term, for some time and are ready to move for the Colombian at the end of this season.
Martinez has continued his fine form this term, with seven goals in as many matches so far.
Real are certain that a new striker will be required next summer, after selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli in July.
Martinez, who has been linked with Arsenal, has a €40m release clause but is awaiting a contract renewal which could see this figure reach €60m.
FC Porto president Pinto da Costa is aware of Real Madrid’s interest, but is desperate to hold on to the Colombia international.
Martinez has previously refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Porto in the future.
“I am very happy at Porto, but of course I cannot rule out the possibility of leaving”, he said earlier this season.
