Here’s how we think Carlo Ancelotti will line up his Real Madrid side versus Champions League holders Bayern Munich this evening…
GK) Iker Casillas
The legendary Spanish keeper starts between the sticks in Champions League ties, while Diego Lopez plays in La Liga. Casillas then, should get the nod tonight.
DR) Daniel Carvajal
Alvaro Arbeloa is injured, meaning this season’s regular right-back 22-year-old Carvajal will almost certainly get the nod to play in his first ever Champions League semi-final.
DC) Pepe
The tough-tackling Portuguese relishes crunch fixtures like these, and will likely be charged with dealing with the aerial threat of Mario Mandzukic.
DC) Sergio Ramos
Ramos is superb on the ball, while being defensively excellent too. He does have a penchant for red cards though, and will have to be at his very best to help Madrid keep a clean sheet tonight.
DL) Marcelo
The Brazilian is not 100% fit, and if he doesn’t pass his late fitness test, Fabio Coentrao will likely start instead. With Real Madrid desperate to win this competition though, they’ll probably risk Marcelo.
