The Spanish international is a top target for Real as they eye a replacement for Iker Casillas, and the player is thought to be keen on making the move to the Bernabeu.
De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and is now regarded as one of the best in the world in his position, attracting strong interest from the La Liga leaders.
£25m may be enough to persuade the Red Devils to sell, with the 24-year-old stalling on signing a new contract at Old Trafford.
