Real Madrid may be ready to sell Karim Benzema to Liverpool this January as they eye the signing of Manchester United striker Robin van Persie as his replacement, according to CaughtOffside.

The Spanish giants are keen to make some changes in attack, partly due to Benzema’s own desire to move on after a long career at the Bernabeu, and they will now grant him his move to Anfield if the Reds can come up with the right money.
£40m may be enough for them to let Benzema go, with van Persie then likely to be allowed to move for around £20m, which would look like sensible business for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Van Persie no longer looks a guaranteed starter at Old Trafford after the arrival of Radamel Falcao this season.
