Spanish giants Real Madrid are reported to have rejected the notion that they would be prepared to negotiate a deal that would send Gareth Bale to Manchester United in return for goalkeeper David de Gea, according to the Daily Express.

Real are known admirers of de Gea, and have been heavily linked with his signature all season. They are said to be looking to strike a deal to bring him back to the Spanish capital, but are apparently unwilling to strike a deal that would involve Gareth Bale heading in the opposite direction.
However, they are instead hoping to include defender Fabio Coentrao in the move by sending him to Old Trafford.
United are desperate to keep hold of de Gea by handing him an improved deal worth £200,000-per-week, though manager Louis Van Gaal has admitted that it will be a difficult task to keep him at the club.
“It is not easy to choose between two great clubs. We would be very happy if he stays,” said Van Gaal.
“He is Spanish and his girlfriend is Spanish and he can go to another great club, so it is difficult for him to decide.
“David De Gea shall not leave us so easily because we are a great club and he wants to participate. He is still behind Casillas but now a Spanish club is coming.”
