Eight records set by Ballon d’Or winner and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo won the prestigious gong for the first time under the guidance of Ferguson back in 2008 and the 29-year-old has a very strong bond with the former Red Devils manager.
The Portugal captain has been strongly linked with a return to Old Trafford ever since he left for Los Blancos for a then world record £80m fee back in 2009 and these comments from the forward may give the fans hope of that happening.
“I think about Manchester United,” Ronaldo was quoted by CaughtOffside.
“The beginning of my career was there, that’s where I started.
“I know the fans are there supporting me.
“I haven’t had a message from Sir Alex yet but I speak with him often.
“He told me to keep improving all the time. He said: ‘Cristiano, you’re the best, don’t worry about the rest’.
“He’s fantastic, I miss him.”
Ronaldo was awarded the Ballon d’Or after another fantastic year with Madrid. Since the attacker arrived at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu he has an almost unbelievable record of 285 goals in 274 games.
