Real Madrid have stated that they will not sell the Welsh winger under any circumstances over the summer, but such a transfer fee may cause a change of mind at the Bernabeu.
According to The Express, United could tempt the La Liga giants with the large transfer fee, but it is believed Manchester City may match any bid made by its crosstown rivals.
Real Madrid could reportedly move for Chelsea star Eden Hazard if Bale was to be tempted away from the Spanish club.
Hazard recently signed a five-year deal with the Premier League leaders, but an £80m fee for Bale could put Real Madrid in the position to mount a speculative bid for the Belgium winger.
Bale has been highly-criticised by the notoriously demanding Real Madrid faithful this season and was booed by his club’s own fans on numerous occasions at the Bernabeu.
The 25-year-old has scored 13 goals in 28 league appearances this season and has been regularly defended by Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.
