Los Blancos are keen on signing Cech as replacement for Casillas.
The future of Iker Casillas at Real Madrid is in doubt as the club prepare a £10m bid to sign Chelsea’s Petr Cech as a replacement for the captain, according to the Daily Express.
The form of Casillas has greatly dropped over the past two seasons and Diego Lopez has replaced him between the sticks at Madrid for La Liga matches.
The 33-year-old also had a woeful 2014 World Cup campaign with Spain and has now fallen well down the pecking order under head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Cech meanwhile is also considering his own options at Stamford Bridge following the return of Thibaut Courtois following three years on-loan with Atletico Madrid.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form in Spain and is expected to usurp the Czech Republic international from his No.1 role despite him having held it for the past 10 years.
Los Blancos are looking to give the 32-year-old an option away from West London, despite the fact they have only recently signed another ‘keeper in the shape of Keylor Navas from Levante.
The Spanish giants now have Casillas, Lopez and Navas on their books, but if Cech were to sign it would probably spell the end of both the skipper and his fellow Spaniard’s time at the club.
