Los Blancos set for first round of negotiations with the London giants.
Real Madrid are prepared to offer winger Angel Di Maria in part exchange for Tottenham Hotspur’s star man Gareth Bale in order to persuade the north London club to do business this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The Spanish giants have been monitoring the coveted Wales international for some time now following the 23-year-old’s sensational previous season at White Hart Lane in which Bale was crowned the double Footballer of the Year.
Bale netted an impressive 26 goals in only 44 matches in all competitions for Andre Villas-Boas’s side last time out, including an equally eye-catching 21 strikes in just 33 Premier League contests, although as yet los Blancos have still to actually lodge an official bid with Tottenham for their player.
However, it is understood now that Madrid are preparing to offer Spurs skilful Argentina international Di Maria plus cash in exchange for their wide man, although whether that would be enough to entice the Londoners to part company with Bale still very much remains to be seen.
