Real Madrid are hoping that Chelsea signing Fabregas would allow them to move for Ramires…

Arsenal’s refusal to trigger the buy-back option in Cesc Fabregas’ contract has moved Chelsea into pole position to land the Barcelona midfielder, reports the Metro.
And if the Spaniard moves to Stamford Bridge, that could pave the way for Real Madrid to make a swoop for Ramires which could cost the La Liga side £25 million.
Barcelona have allowed Fabregas to leave the club three years after joining from Arsenal but the Gunners have ruled out using their first refusal option. Manchester United extensively chased the 27-year old last summer but new manager Louis van Gaal has turned his attention to other targets leaving Chelsea Fabregas’ most likely destination.
The Blues failed to win any trophy last season and manager Jose Mourinho is keen to reshape the squad according to his liking. The Portuguese has already let David Luiz and Frank Lampard leave with more exits impending to accommodate the new signings. Should Fabregas arrive at the Bridge, Ramires could be deemed surplus to requirements despite forming an important part of the club’s midfield engine.
Carlo Ancelotti is keen to reunite with Ramires at the Bernabeu and is willing to sanction the transfer as the Brazilian represents a cheaper option to Madrid’s other target, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
