It’s thought it could cost up to £30m to land the 27-year-old who has been playing second fiddle to Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI so far this season.
To date the South American has made just three Premier League appearances and Madrid are hoping to tempt him to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu with the lure of more first team action.
Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti is a big admirer of Ramires and actually bought the midfield ace to Stamford Bridge from Benfica back in 2010 when he was in charge of the Blues.
The Brazilian is only midway through a five-year deal in West London currently though and with a contract that doesn’t expire until 2017 Mourinho is under no pressure to sell.
Ancelotti has made it clear he wants to strengthen in the middle with support needed for Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, as Sami Khedira is expected to leave the Spanish capital soon having entered the final year of his current contract.
