Madrid are using Morata in a swap deal with Juventus to land Vidal.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United could all be dealt a huge blow as Real Madrid enter into negotiations with Italian giants Juventus for highly rated enforcer Arturo Vidal, reports the Daily Express.
While Vidal is one of United’s prime transfer targets, Madrid are hoping to jump ahead in the race to sign the Chilean by using Gunners and Tottenham target Alvaro Morata as a makeweight in the deal.
Juve are interested in signing the 21-year-old starlet, and Los Blancos’ willingness to sell the striker in part exchange for Vidal, could give the Spanish giants an edge in negotiations.
The news comes as a blow to both North London clubs, who were keen on snapping up Morata as attacking reinforcement for next season.
Although Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was initially reluctant to sell Morata without a buy-back option, he would be more than happy to part with his backup forward to sign one of the best midfielders in Europe in Vidal.
