The young English pair have been in fine form this season.
Sterling, 20, has scored four goals and made five assists in 21 Premier League games.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Kane has bagged 19 goals in all competitions.
Real know that neither player will come cheap, so, in order to raise funds for an ambitious double swoop, they hope to sell Karim Benzema to Arsenal or Manchester United, according to Fichajes.net.
French international Benzema has scored 15 goals in 31 games for club and country this term.
Kane’s Spurs contract expires in the summer of 2019, while Sterling’s current deal runs until July 2017.
