Rumours have been gathering apace in recent weeks that he could make a move back to England with Manchester United, as reported in the Daily Star, but the latest news appears to kill that potential transfer.
This comes after it was reported that Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti didn’t see Bale as first team regular, but the Italian is now quoted as saying “It seems like many have forgotten that Gareth Bale scored in the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals. He is equally important as James Rodriguez and Isco.”
Although the rumours of Bale to United now seem to be dead, it opens up the possibility of a Manchester return for their former star Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo and Bale have reportedly been at loggerheads in recent weeks as they vie for the spotlight in the Spanish capital, and there are murmurs that the Portuguese international is trying to force a move away from the Bernabeu.
It is thought he would cost the Old Trafford side more than £100m to bring him back.
