Cutler threw for 3,812 yards with 28 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions despite having a Pro Bowl receiving corps in Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery.
Despite his poor performance throughout the season, Bears guard Matt Slauson expressed faith in his quarterback with comments that are sure to puzzle NFL fans.
“Jay can be every bit of a Tom Brady, a Peyton Manning, an Aaron Rodgers. He can be them, if not more,” Slauson said to WGN Radio.
Cutler has been unable to live up to his hype since entering the NFL as the 11th overall pick in the 2006 draft, and his experience with the Bears has not been any better since leaving the Denver Broncos.
His arm strength is arguably the best in the NFL, but Cutler is known for not being able to handle the mental aspect of the game.
His job will not get any easier as he will have to convince the Bears not to trade him when they get the chance since Marshall has been traded to the New York Jets.
