The freshman running back has rushed for 427 yards and five touchdowns, which breaks the single-game rushing record that was just broken last week by Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon.
Gordon had rushed for 408 yards and four touchdowns against Nebraska. Perine took full advantage of the absence of quarterback Trevor Knight.
