F1 champion Sebastian Vettel fastest in Wednesday’s first test session at Catalunya Circuit, Barcelona.
Sebastian Vettel has won the Formula One driver’s World Championship in each of the last three years, and has begun 2013 in fine form.
In Wednesday’s first test session at the Catalunya Circuit in Barcelona, Vettel managed the quickest lap at 1 minute 22.197 seconds – half a second faster than any other driver.
Following his move from McLaren to Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton was second fastest with a time of 1 minute 22.726 seconds.
However, it should be noted that Vettel’s time was not the thrashing it may have initially appeared.
He was on the quicker soft tires, whilst many of the rest of the field – including Hamilton – were on the harder compound.
The 2013 F1 season begins in Australia on March 17th, but until then, each team will be reluctant to give too much away.
