Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon will be back with the team today after serving a 10-game suspension for drug violations.
Gordon had already been suspended two games in 2013 for his drug violations and his most recent failed test could have resulted in a season-long suspension. However, a change to the NFL drug penalty policy at the start of the season cut his suspension short, allowing him to return to the Browns in Week 11.
Gordon was taken in the 2nd round of the 2012 Supplemental Draft (the Browns took Gordon in exchange for a 2013 2nd-round draft pick) out of Baylor, where he was Robert Griffin III’s go-to guy in his Heisman Trophy year. He led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,646 receiving yards in 2013 (in only 14 games played) was suspended before the start of the season for failing a drug test and other conduct violations.
The Cleveland Browns are currently 6-4 – the team has not had a winning season since 2007.
