Ghana international recently spoke about Bundesliga return.
Reports in Germany claim that AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is currently having a medical with Bundesliga side Schalke.
The 26-year-old scored a brace on Wednesday night to help the club seal its place in the Champions League group stages, but just days later Bild are reporting that he is set for a return to Germany.
Following a stint in the Premier League with the likes of Portsmouth and Tottenham, Boateng was a relative success in Serie A upon his arrival.
With the opportunity to link up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he excelled in his attacking midfield role and helped the Rossoneri to a league title in 2011.
However, his influence has waned in more recent times as he has come under intense criticism due to a string of disappointing displays in the trequartista role.
With Milan linked with a swoop for Real Madrid’s Kaka, Boateng’s exit could pave the way both financially and to make room in the squad for the Brazilian to return.
Wow. @SPORTBILD reporting that KP Boateng having a medical at Schalke at the moment.

Nevertheless as reported by respected German football expert Raphael Honigstein, it comes as a surprise given that there was little to suggest an imminent departure was possible for Boateng.
The midfielder recently spoke of his desire to return to the Bundesliga one day, and his wish could be granted sooner rather than later if reports in Germany are to be believed.
However, early reports from within Milan suggest that Boateng is training with his team-mates at Milanello on Friday, therefore dismissing claims of a possible switch to Schalke. In contrast, Sky Italia claim Boateng is in Germany.
