Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer is the latest NFL player to be arrested on domestic violence charges, and new details have surfaced on this incident.
Dwyer’s wife reportedly refused to engage in sexual intercourse with him one night, and he was still angry about it the next morning. The running back took out his rage on his wife by punching her in the face, and he threw a shoe at his 17-month-old son after punching a wall.
The running back’s wife eventually tried to call the police before he snatched her cell phone from her and chucked it off the second story of their house.
When the police arrived at their home, Dwyer denied taking part in domestic violence and insisted that his son was not hurt. However, he did admit to punching a wall and throwing his wife’s cell phone.
It remains to be seen how long Dwyer will be out for and how the NFL will handle this latest domestic abuse controversy.
