Things appear to have gone the other way. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals have decided that Palmer’s shoulder isn’t healthy enough for him to play and Drew Stanton will get the start in his place.
Stanton has not played in a regular season game since the 2010 season, when he appeared in six games and made three starts for the Lions. He’s been with the Cardinals since Arians arrived, so his lack of recent playing time will be balanced somewhat by his familiarity with the offense.
