The Chicago Bears cleaned house following their disaster of a season that ended with a 5-11 record. Head coach Marc Trestman, offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer and general manager Phil Emery were all axed.
The Bears have been searching for a new general manager to right the ship, and they have hired 37-year-old Ryan Pace, who was the director of player personnel for the New Orleans Saints.
Now that the Bears have hired a general manager, they can shift their focus to hiring a new head coach. Mike Shanahan, who used to coach quarterback Jay Cutler with the Denver Broncos, is rumored to be a candidate.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter announced the Bears’ hire on Twitter.
