There is still no word yet as to the length of the suspension for All-Pro WR Josh Gordon. But the Browns seem prepared for a reduced sentence.
With the appeal for Josh Gordon’s year-long suspension for marijuana use concluded, the Browns have reportedly been informed that they will receive the final decision in one to three weeks. The team, however, appears to have an idea as to how long the suspension might end up being.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns are anticipating a minimum 8-game suspension for the All-Pro receiver.
Gordon was given a year-long suspension for failing a 2nd drug test earlier this year. His first failed test resulted in a two-game suspension – but he still managed to lead the league in receiving yards en route to his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection.
If Gordon does receive only an 8 game suspension, he’d be eligible to return on Nov. 6th for a Thursday night game against the Bengals. However, he would be forced to miss both games against the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
