The Detroit Lions were depleted at running back last week when Joique Bell sat out with a concussion. They ended up losing to the Buffalo Bills as their running game sputtered.
Although the Lions received good news that Bell will return this week, they also got bad news that Reggie Bush will sit out with an ankle injury.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson is also nursing an ankle injury that is expected to keep him out for a week or two. The Lions offense will be put to the test with key weapons being out.
Here is a tweet from NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport releasing the news on Bush’s injury.
#Lions do not plan on having RB Reggie Bush today, per source. Who steps in? Keep an eye on promising RB Theo Riddick. Shifty. They like him
