The Angels outfielder experienced a shoulder injury in 2014 that hindered his performance, and he went hitless in the playoffs as the Angels were swept by the Kansas City Royals.
Hamilton has become the center of a reported “disciplinary issue.” He is meeting with the MLB, and Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto declined to comment further on the matter.
However, it has been revealed that Hamilton is in trouble due to having another relapse that involved cocaine and alcohol. Hamilton had previously battled drug and alcohol addictions, so this may be an explanation for his recent struggles.
This relapse allegedly occurred a couple of months ago, and Hamilton himself admitted to having a relapse. He is expected to be treated as a first-time offender since his previous offenses occurred in the minors.
FOX Sports confirmed Hamilton’s relapse on Twitter.
