Minnesota have officially removed themselves from the running to sign veteran linebacker Brian Urlacher.
After being released by the Bears on Wednesday evening, Minnesota were the first team to be linked with the 34 year-old, due to their lack of depth at the middle linebacker spot.
However NFL.com have reported that the Vikings are not interested in the Bears legend unless the “price tag comes way, way down.”
Urlacher may retire soon unless he can find a team within the next month, but it does seem that he must lower his wage demands for teams to take a chance on a short-term deal with the defender.
If he is requesting $4m a year, then the chances of him playing in the 2013 season are slim. If he is serious about continuing his play, then halving that total may be necessary.
