The Minnesota Vikings have struggled somewhat at the running back position for the first time in years since Adrian Peterson has been out indefinitely due to being indicted on child abuse charges.
Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon have received the lion’s share of the carries as a result, and Ben Tate was claimed off waivers shortly before McKinnon went down with a season-ending back injury.
Tate never received significant playing time with the Vikings, and he has since been waived by the team. Asiata has gotten more involved in the offense since McKinnon went down, and Peterson is on track to return to the Vikings in 2015.
