A report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter stated that multiple NFL teams are looking into free agent RB Ray Rice.
The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints were the only two of the four alleged team that Schefter’s report would identify by name, but he indicated that neither team is looking to sign Rice in the immediate future.
The hesitancy to sign Rice, outside of the obvious public relations issues signing him would bring, apparently come from the fact that he is soon to be 28 years old, coming off a career-low in yards/carry, and the potential learning curve in being taught a new offensive system.
A three-time Pro Bowler and Superbowl champion with the Baltimore Ravens, Rice was cut by the Ravens and given an indefinite suspension back in September after a graphic video surfaced of him punching his then-fiancee, now-wife Janay Palmer in an Atlantic City hotel elevator. After an appeal by Rice, a judge ruled that the suspension handed down to him was improper and reinstated Rice immediately.
