New York Giants rookie WR Odell Beckham Jr. said Monday that he expects to be a full participant in practice this week after returning to the field in limited fashion last week. Those practices were Beckham’s first of any kind in over a month as he continues to make his way back from a hamstring injury. Beckham could be in the lineup against Atlanta, but Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has not made any promises.
“There are a lot of things [he needs to show to get into a game],” Coughlin said, via NJ.com. “He has to practice. He has to practice in consecutive days. He has to show us he’s not only strong enough but can endure day after day. So there is some room to make some progress and impress everybody.”
Beckham did not play in any preseason games or participate in more than a handful of practices due to a lingering hamstring injury.
The Giants drafted Beckham No. 12 overall in the 2014 NFL draft. The former LSU Tiger wowed scouts by running a 4.43 40-time.
