No. 2 Oregon easily defeated No. 3 Florida State, 59-20, in the Rose Bowl to advance to the national championship game where they will face No. 4 Ohio State on Monday, Jan. 12.
However, injuries continued to pile up for them as wide receiver Devon Allen left the game with a knee injury. This will force him to sit out of the national championship.
The Ducks had already lost their top defender in cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, who also suffered a knee injury. Allen was one of Oregon’s key weapons with 41 catches for 684 yards and seven touchdowns.
ESPN CollegeFootball made Allen’s injury status official on Twitter.
