Philadelphia Eagles fans clamoring for struggling QB Mark Sanchez to be benched and replaced with Nick Foles won’t get their wish this week.
Via Rueben Frank of CSNPhilly.com, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly told reporters that QB Nick Foles, who made the Pro Bowl in 2013, would not be ready to play this week.
Foles had tests on his broken collarbone, but they did not show that there was enough improvement to put him back on the field.
The Eagles have struggled mightily in their last two games with Sanchez as the starting QB, losing two critical homes games to the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys to lose the lead in the NFC East title race.
By virtue of their loss to the Cowboys, the Eagles no longer control their own destiny in the playoff race.
